The Ideal Way Of Packing Your Luggage For Your Honeymoon Trip
Firstly, think about where you are going. Are you going on a city holiday where you’ll want to be chic and sophisticated? Are you going on a luxurious beach holiday where you’ll probably live in your bikini or trunks for most of the time? Are you going on Safari, where you’ll need cool, lightweight clothing or are you going for action packed excitement?
Secondly you need to think about what you will be doing when you get there? Are you going to be doing lots of walking? Water sports? Eating in posh restaurants? Chilling out by the pool? Rock climbing? Sightseeing? All of these different activities will require alternative types of clothing. You also need to be aware of cultural observances if you’re sightseeing. For example when we went to Sri Lanka both men and women had to have their legs completely covered when visiting temples otherwise you would be refused admittance. You also couldn’t go into the restaurant at the hotel with shorts or cropped trousers on. Make sure you check for things like this as it would be incredibly disappointing for you to miss out on an experience because you didn’t have the right clothing.

HONEYMOON TIPS AND MONEY SAVERS
Generally, the farther out you book, the more money you can save, but be careful. You may have to pay penalties if you change your mind.
ASK FOR A HONEYMOON SHOWER
At one of the best showers we've attended, a group of friends chipped in to buy two monogrammed under-the-seat duffle bags and filled them with honeymoon perks for the happy couple: his and her monogrammed robes, monogrammed beach towels, funny flip flops, and twin pareos, leaving space for the couple to tuck in their own necessities.
Another shower featured a drawing where each guest gave checks
to provide specific activities such as, dinner for two on the beach, twin massages, island sightseeing tours, etc.
Tips for a Romantic Honeymoon
• Touch up on some massage techniques. Purchase a book to help you if you are not a masseuse, and perhaps you could read it on your journey to your honeymoon destination.
• Have some mood enhancing massage lotions and oils, such as Ylang Ylang, Lavender, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Jasmine and Patchouli. Ask the Aromatherapist to mix up some romantic blends that will enhance your moods.
• Take along some of your favorite music and have it playing softly in the room. This will be a subtle way of letting your spouse know you are in the mood.
• Lots and lots of candles are always a mood setter. The soft flickering glow has always been the main point of romance. You can take them along with you or you can arrange with the hotel where you will be staying to order and place the candles in your room before you get there - make sure they are placed around the bed and in the bathroom.
• Lingerie is one certain way to get your spouse's heart racing. Black, white or red silk teddies are a good choice. Keep the lingerie a secret and bring it out only half way into your honeymoon - this way it will keep the flame burning all throughout your honeymoon.
• Go to bed wearing your spouse's favorite perfume or cologne.
• Bubbles - for the bath and for sipping in the bath. This is one "vacation" that you will never be able to do over so don't compromise on quality. You want to have the finest French champagne and the best bubble bath (Note: Mr Shipmate is not a romantic choice).
• Have a romantic candlelit dinner on the balcony of your hotel room and continue with the fireworks our on the balcony for a bit of added spice and excitement.
• Relax - stay in one evening and watch romantic movies and just sit in each others arms.
• Take long beach strolls at sunset and have the hotel set up a picnic for you on the sand with blankets, candles and champagne.
• Hire a twin bicycle and ride around town - stop at the local markets and buy fresh flowers and fruit then find a peaceful place where the two of you can just enjoy each others company.
• Go for a hike in a wooded area; take along a picnic with strawberries and cream and bubbly for a private toast to your new marriage.
• Have the hotel fill your room with fresh fragrant flowers like Hyacinths or Gardenias - every time you smell those flowers you will remember your honeymoon for the rest of your life.
• If you prefer a bit of a more steamy night - take along some "toys" that you both enjoy. Although this might be a fun time to bring out the fuzzy handcuffs, remember that if you or your partner feel uncomfortable it may be a better idea to leave them for another time.
• Don't forget to have a camera at hand at all times - it's those unexpected pictures which always turn out the best. Having "naughty" pictures of the two of you on your honeymoon will keep the flame burning for many years to come - be sure to keep them secret and away from your other honeymoon snaps or you may be in for an embarrassing moment with the inlaws.
• Read a steamy book to your new spouse and make sure they listen to the very end - the anticipation will be worth waiting for.
• Wake up extra early just to watch the sun rise together - especially if you spectacular views like rolling hills or the ocean.
Honeymoon blunders
Here are some of the most common honeymoon mistakes-don't make them yours!
1.
Forgetting to book a double bed.
You may laugh, but it's important when reserving hotels, especially abroad.
2.
Making reservations for an early flight the morning after your wedding.
If you're planning an evening reception, you can be sure you're not going to bed early on your wedding night. A later flight may save you from walking bleary-eyed through the airport.
3.
Not carrying a Condom.
This may sound strange but most of the honeymooners do forget to carry condoms on their honeymoon. This may happen either because of the hectic and tiring marriage ceremonies or just a simple oversight. Adequate sex protection is a must if you do not intend to get pregnant immediately after your marriage.
4.
Skimping on your accommodations.
Maybe on other trips, but not a honeymoon. Even if you think you won't spend much time in your room, you'll be sorry if your accommodations are not special. Probably the most common honeymoon lament we hear is, "I wish we'd spent just a little more and stayed in a deluxe room."
5.
Not setting a honeymoon budget.
Before you go, agree about what you'll splurge on and where you'll skimp to avoid any possible money hassles en route.
6.
Letting one person do all the planning.
After all, this honeymoon is for both of you. If you do all the work, you'll feel guilty if things don't go perfectly. If you don't take part in the planning, you'll probably end up dissatisfied.
7.
Ignoring cost-saving travel packages.
Talk to your travel agent. Many packages will allow you to have all the frills you want...and save you money.
8.
Thinking you have to spend every minute together.
You'll both be happier if you plan one or two separate activities on your honeymoon--and think how much fun you'll have sharing your experiences with each other.
9.
Keeping mum about being honeymooners.
Don't be bashful...especially with hotels, cruise lines, restaurants...Tell them when you make your reservations and you're likely to enjoy special treatment.
10.
Relying too much on friends and family.
Ask for recommendations from friends and family, but don't let yourselves be overly influenced. Follow your own interests.
11.
Not consulting with a travel agent.
A capable agent will help you plan a honeymoon that's right for the two of you-- at a price you can aff
